Darkness with intention.
Working with a portable scanner at street level, Filippo Romano captures the accumulated layers of London's surfaces — deep pigment, compressed shadow, the weight of material left to weather without intervention. Darth is part of the ongoing Urban Surface Archive: a record of street surfaces across London that are painted over, pasted on or torn down.
Surfaces like this rarely last. Each print keeps a record of a wall as it was on the day it was scanned.
