Working with a portable scanner at street level, Filippo Romano captures the accumulated layers of urban surfaces — deep pigment, compressed shadow, the weight of material left to weather without intervention. Darth is part of the ongoing Urban Surface Archive series, a documentary study of ephemeral urban textures across London and southern Europe.
These surfaces no longer exist as photographed. Each print is a record of something already gone.
